Jimmel Daniel began his career as a graphic artist and eventually found his calling for filmmaking in 2007. In 2009 he made his first trip to the UK to premiere his documentary The Power Of The Vagina at the Portobello Film Festival. The film received great reviews from Menaha Thiru a reporter of UK’s online independent film magazine Little White Lies and was recognized by the festival coproducer Neigeme Glasgow-Maeda as the film that “brought in the crowd”. Jimmel is in his final year at the University of the West Indies completing his B.A. in Film.
Jimmel Daniel is a young, upcoming Caribbean filmmaker, and the perfect candidate for the future of filmmaking in the Caribbean. Jimmel plans to revolutionize filmaking in his native island of Trinidad and Tobago by exploring the creative and technical aspects of film production and presenting these to Caribbean and international audiences.
